Ben 10 Alien Swarm Movie Review

Ben 10 has been growing in popularity since 2005 and is about to start its third cartoon series. The first live film from 2007, called ‘Race Against Time’ was very popular and was based around the original cartoons when Ben 10 was ten years old and could only transform into 10 aliens. Alien Swarm is based around the second series called ‘Alien Force’ where Ben 10 is now 15 years old and has a whole new set of alien friends. As you might expect the film’s story follows Ben and a few of his friends on an action packed adventure. Ben 10 Alien Swarm is the second live action movie to grace our TV screens.

A swarm of aliens no less is threatening the survival of earth and the now older and more adventurous Ben faces his greatest challenge yet in stopping them. The film introduces an old friend of Ben’s, called Elena, whose father has gone missing, so Ben gets on the case and helps to find him. The alien swarm is actually a group of nanotech robot chips which appears to be infecting many humans and turning them into zombies. The key to stopping these chips infecting everyone lies in finding the Queen of the hive. For edge of your seat, Ben 10 action, Alien Swarm is for you.

The film of course sees Ben transform into various of his alien alter egos to ward off evil. The trusty Ben 10 Omnitrix is on hand to achieve this process and it is great to see the special effect holographic aliens appearing from the watch like device. Now Ben is more grown up than in the first live action film, we get to see cool cars and motorbikes being used to rev up some action scenes. As the film is aimed at quite a young audience, the level of fighting has been kept well under control, although is still exciting. The movie moves along quickly so your little ones won’t get bored and they will learn a few life lessons along the way about helping others.
