Nearly every Jane Austen aficionado has read Pride and Prejudice, far and away her most well known work. What can it be about this tale that makes it so ubiquitously beloved that it has so far inspired close to three hundred sequels? The demand for Jane Austen P & P sequels has certainly grown over the last few years.

It probably has quite a lot to do with Fitzwilliam Darcy. Who could not live this man? Darcy is as close an analog to the Charming Prince of fairy tales as can possibly be imagined. He exemplifies the virtues of charm and desirability, while retaining a few flaws that humanize him.

Who could avoid falling head over heels for a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, who in unwaveringly faithful to those beloved to him? His moral compass is driven by a sense of honor, integrity, and duty that few men can match. The fact that he is wealthy, influential, and good looking certainly do not hurt. If the heart of the true romantic is not swayed by all the facts, we can add still more to his roster of virtues. Darcy fights to overcome his own inborn prejudices and makes changes to himself because of his love for an excellent woman. He keeps her from walking away, despite herself. Darcy only becomes more lovable as he reshapes himself through his relationship with Elizabeth Bennet.

Perhaps readers love the idea that despite his money and postion, he truly has need of Elizabeth’s influence in his life to make him the best man he can possibly be. The subtle undertone seems to be that we all have great value, that we have something to offer even to people that are above our own stations.

Which is not to say that Fitzwilliam Darcy is not a fascinating temptation all by himself. He is so beguiling to the modern reader and writer that he has become the center of many
sequels, both adventurous and mis-adventurous. And what delightful fun they are. JASequels sweep the whole range of genres, and are set in time periods ranging from the classic RegencyPride and Prejudice sequel to Modern.

If you are a fan of Austen’s copious body of work but have never yet any sequel Pride&Prejudice, do yourself a favor and pick up one of these highly entertaining works.

If the idea of downloading your books, magazines, blogs, newspapers, etc. instantly from anywhere at anytime appeals to you, you need to have the Amazon Kindle — it’s one of the best ebook reader around.

Reading from this device is different from reading off the computer screen because the readability is enhanced by the E-Ink technology. The screen is sharp in a black and white format and you strain your eyes much lesser than if you are reading off the computer.

The device is highly portable. In fact, you do not even need WiFi connectivity since Amazon has their own wireless delivery system called the Whispernet to deliver your reading materials. This means that you can forget about contracts or service plans. You also do not need a computer for any syncing to start using this device.

You can access your reading materials anytime you like. Newspapers subscribers get their newspapers every morning. Similarly, magazine subscribers get their magazines like clockwork; in fact, even before they have arrived at the news-stands.

If you are unsure of a purchase, you may read the beginning of it for free and then decide. Start your newspaper subscriptions with a free two-week trial subscription.

While the Kindle might be lighter and more compact than a notebook, this device is capable of storing hundreds of ebooks in its internal memory. If that’s still not enough, you can easily add more storage to it with a SD memory card. What’s even better is that whenever you purchase an ebook from your Kindle, a backup copy of the ebook is automatically stored in your online library.

Every Amazon Kindle order comes with an USB 2.0 cable, a power adapter and a book cover. With this device you will be able to shop for ebooks at anytime anywhere. And just like a traditional book, you can add bookmark, and make annotation on it. To discover its full feature, read the Amazon Kindle review. You will be impressed.

Before setting out on your travel adventure, there are some sources that you should consult for wisdom and as indispensable resources before you go. As freeing as backpacking can be, it is unwise to leave without doing a bit of homework. You may not have a strict itinerary, but there are some things that you will need to know about the places you are going.

Before leaving, you should research the countries you are going to see. If you know a bit of the history of the country, you will appreciate it more when you see it firsthand. You can purchase some pretty great travel books that are dedicated to providing thorough travel information on specific countries. Lonely Planet and Frommers are two better known series.

You may also want to consult general information on travel, tourism, accommodations, food, and safety in the general area you are traveling to. Depending on the area, it may be harder to get around, find affordable accommodations, or the country may be experiencing unrest that you should be aware of before deciding to visit. You also want to make sure that you will be in the country during good weather. Make sure you know when the wet seasons are, when their winter is, or when hurricanes/cyclones/typhoons are most prevalent. You can find all this information on the internet or in travel books.

Travel movies, although mostly fictional, can help to provide some insight into the life of a traveler. Some movies convey quite aptly the experiences that travelers face, the ups and downs of being so far from home, and the feeling of impermanence that is felt by travelers as their scenery, friends, and beds keep changing. They also show the adventure, the fun, and the new and exciting experiences that travelers face.
