LEDs can turn their backlights off and on quicker than fluorescents, so they can have better colors, whites and blacks. Most people also say that they have lifespans which are longer than LCDs. In addition, they do not have any mercury in them.

A LED HDTV definitely has better viewing angles as compared to the traditional LCDs. Old LCDs have poor picture quality when viewed in certain angles, whereas LED backlighting correct these problems. With viewing angles almost the same to the plasmas, the LED televisions are definitely great to look at while giving you great picture quality.
