Time For A Bigger TV Or Maybe New Glasses

One of the annoying things about getting older, is how much your vision starts to go.  It happens gradually so we don’t often notice it, but it does happen.  I remember a funny scene from the movie “Freaky Friday” starring Linsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis.  It’s the move where mom and daughter end up switching bodies and living in each others shoes for a few days.  There’s one scene, when the daughter first wakes up in her Moms body and screams something like “Oh my God . . . she’s blind!”.  Pretty funny.  She probably didn’t have her moms prescription glasses on yet, but still funny none the less.

A few years ago, both my wife and I were finding it harder to watch TV on our 20 year old 26 inch television.  We came to the conclusion, that we either needed a bigger television or better glasses.  As it turned out, we ended up with both a bigger 42 inch Sharp Aquos LCD and new pairs of eyeglasses.  Now watching television and movies is much easier.  Especially with the high definition stuff.  But, the glasses help quite a bit as well.  It seems, that with HD they seem to cram more information on the screen.  Especially the sports channels, what with all the stats and scoring information along the top or bottom of the screen.
